Database Downtime: ProQuest

On Saturday-Sunday, August 20-21, ProQuest will be upgrading its systems from 10:00 pm Saturday through 6:00 am Sunday.

During this time ProQuest platforms and products will not be available. This will include ProQuest databases, Chadwyck-Healey databases (C19 The Nineteenth Century Index, Early English Books Online, Patrologia Latina, and PolicyFile), Proquest Digital Microfilm and Books in Print. As well you may notice that the journal cover images in the catalogue do not display.

Users will be re-directed to a webpage explaining the scheduled maintenance.

Database Downtime: Emerald Journals

Maintenance is scheduled for Emerald’s research platform (including Emerald Engineering journals and Emerald Management journals) Tuesday, March 22 from 4:00 am - 4:00 pm. During this time the site will be placed into ‘read-only’ mode, making some functionalities, including searching, unavailable.

On Wednesday, November 18, the OneClickdigital website will be down for approximately 3 hours starting at 9:00 pm EST, in order to upgrade the system.

Database Downtime: Cambridge Journals Online

We are experiencing problems with the Cambridge Journals website. The provider is working to restore access, but it could take several days before all functionalities are available. Apologies for the inconvenience.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2015 beginning at 10:00 PM EDT and lasting for two (2) hours, ProQuest will be performing critical maintenance on their site.

During this time the ProQuest platform and databases and Literature Online (LION) will not be available. Users will be re-directed to a webpage explaining the scheduled maintenance.

During this time ProQuest platforms and products will not be available. Database Downtime: Elsevier

On Saturday August 1, access to Elsevier platforms will be unavailable for approximately 4.5 hours starting at 6:00 pm, due to scheduled maintenance. The following resources will be involved in the upgrade: ScienceDirect, Scopus, Engineering Village, and Mendeley. During the downtime there will be a message informing users of the temporary unavailability of service.

On Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 all OCLC services, including WorldCat and CAMIO, will be unavailable from 12:01 am to 3:00 pm (approximately 15 hours) for a system upgrade. We apologize in advance for any disruption.

Platforms and products from ProQuest (including titles, databases and RefWorks) will not be available from approximately 10:00 pm EDT, Saturday,  June 14, 2014 through 11:00 am EDT, Sunday,  June 15, 2014, due to system upgrades.

Database Downtime: BioOne

BioOne website will be undergoing maintenance starting Saturday March 1, 2014. Scheduled downtime will begin at 11:00 AM (EST) and may last up to 16 hours. During this time content and services offered through BioOne 1, BioOne 2, and BioOne Abstracts and Indexes will be unavailable.

Database Downtime: Taylor & Francis

All ebooks, journals, etc. from Taylor & Francis will be unavailable for 16 hours - from Saturday, March 1st  at 11:00 am - Sunday, March 2nd at 3:00 am due to a major platform upgrade. This includes these databases: Taylor & Francis eBooks, Taylor & Francis Journals Online, and the Taylor & Francis Strategic, Defence & Security Studies Archive.

Database Downtime: ProQuest

All ProQuest products will be unavailable for 8 hours starting on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 10:00 pm due to system enhancements. ProQuest products affected by this downtime include all ProQuest databases and RefWorks.

Database Downtime: Scholars Portal

All Scholars Portal services will be unavailable from Sunday December 29, 4am until Monday December 30, 4am due to upcoming planned building maintenance at the University of Toronto. Services affected will include: Scholars Portal Books, GeoPortal, Scholars Portal Journals, ODESI and RefWorks.

Database Downtime: IMF eLibrary

Some updates are going to be made to the IMF eLibrary on Monday, October 28th between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm EST. Access to the site will be unavailable during this time, but users will still be able to access IMF eLibrary data.

Database Downtime: AGRICOLA and ERIC

A few databases at Carleton have been affected by the shutdown of the US Federal Government. AGRICOLA and the free version of the ERIC website are not available. You can search ERIC in ProQuest, but links to full text documents on the ERIC website will not work.

The Federal Digital System (FDsys) won’t be doing any updates because of the shutdown, and PubMed is being minimally maintained.

Database Downtime: Wiley Online Library

On Saturday, September 28th the Wiley Online Library will be unavailable between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm due to system upgrades. As well, there will be some delays to online publishing of Wiley materials from September 25th - 28th.

Database downtime: Alexander Street Press e-products

Black Women Writers, Music Online: Classical Music Library, Music Online: Classical Scores Library, and Theatre in Video will be unavailable on Sunday, March 31, 2013 between the hours of 10:00 am and 12:00 pm EST / UTC-5 due to scheduled maintenance at Alexander Street Press data center.

Database downtime: EBSCOhost

On Saturday, January 5, 2013 for about eight hours beginning at 7:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time some EBSCOhost functionality will be unavailable - personal user authentication, the checkout and download of eBooks, alerts, RSS, access to My EBSCOhost folder items and the ability to save items from a session to personalized folders.

Please note that access to the EBSCOhost databases will continue to be available during this period.
